this handy device have 2 function:1.ultra sound
2.TEV( transient earth voltage)
ultrasound inspection made for checking circuit breakers compartment condition.
ultrasound checking more to surface inspection.
type of sound produced when a compartment had a problem :
1.corona
2.arking
3.tracking
reading:
0 - -ve dB : ok
1 - +ve dB : not ok
TEV inspection is more to secondary part (relay, thermometer)
TEV reading:
1 - 6 v : internal dischage
7 - 29 v : surface discharge
30v and above : floating metal
primary part: busbar, cable, poteintial transformer and current tranformer
